'Having a mare', 'Makes me sick': Some Leeds fans slam 'dreadful' player in first-half v Swansea

Leeds United fans were hoping for a fast start at Swansea this afternoon, with the chance to go three points clear at the top of the Championship.

They didn’t get it. In fact, Swansea were easily the best side for the first quarter of the game.

Rhian Brewster was a threat for the home side while Leeds looked flat and off the pace, although the Liverpool loanee picked up a really cheap yellow after 28 minutes for throwing the ball away.

The main problem for Leeds was the distribution. Passing was poor, with Luke Ayling the biggest offender.

One fan was moved to ask, “Does he know we’re not playing in white?” after a number of misplaced or easy-to-read balls.

It was never going to be easy travelling down to Wales for a Sunday game – we know how it went last time – but Leeds really need to pick up the pace.

A draw wouldn’t be a disaster but a defeat could see Leeds in third before they play their next game against Barnsley at Elland Road on Thursday. And that really is something we have to avoid.

Ayling has been brilliant this season but he’s not been at the races so far today.
