Ben White details what is different at Leeds to anywhere else he has played
Leeds loanee Ben White has hailed the Leeds United fans and said playing at Elland Road is unlike anything he’s experienced before.
White was being interviewed on the White & Sawyer show on talkSPORT (Monday, 10am) and also said that the Leeds players are ready to get back into action and finish the job of winning promotion off.
“I’d been to Eland Road before and it was unbelievable and that was only half full then,” White said.
“Playing at a packed Elland Road each week has been something else.
“The passion, the support we get every week is like nothing else I’ve ever experienced before.”
Asked about whether it would be hard to get back to playing again White said, “All the boys are working hard every day and we’re ready to finish the job when we get back.
“We’ve kept up our fitness levels, we haven’t had any days off. We’ve had programs sent through every day to complete. They’re tough.”
There are nine games standing between Leeds and the Premier League, with a lot riding on promotion.
If Leeds want to stand any chance of holding onto White, they’ll need to be a Premier League side next season – White is definitely a Premier League-level player now.
Meanwhile, Leeds fans have been praised by everyone from current players, opposition players and even former Man United stars like Gary Neville.
We don’t think there’s an equal anywhere in the Championship and we think the Leeds fans would have given any top-flight side a run for their money in the Premier League.
The sad thing is, no one knows how long it will be before fans can come back to Elland Road, and there’s a question mark over whether that will even happen next season.
Given how long Leeds have been out of the top flight, that would be a real tragedy.
