'Absolutely outstanding' – Exclusive: Pundit says Leeds ace has put career-long issue behind him
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said that Patrick Bamford has finally found a home at Leeds, with a manager who trusts him, and is repaying the club in the Premier League.
Robinson said that Bamford – who he played with at Burnley – obviously had an issue through his career but is looking to put that behind him.
Robinson said he was ‘absolutely outstanding” against Sheffield United and thought he was the man-of-the-match.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bamford said, “I think Patrick Bamford was excellent in leading the line at Bramall Lane.
“He’s had his critics, me included, but I think the way he’s started the season, the goals, his workrate, he’s laid the gauntlet down.

“He’s been given the opportunity to make that striker spot his own and he’s taken it with both hands. I think he’s been absolutely outstanding.
“He’s a huge confidence player and he seems to have found a home and a manager who believes in him.
“He’s had a lot of clubs for a player his age and when you see someone his age and the number of clubs he’s been at there’s obviously an issue there.
“I think it’s the longest he’s stayed anywhere and he seems to have found a manager who really trusts him. And he’s repaying that.
“He’s a real confidence player and if you’re happy and you’ve got the manager’s backing you’re going to be a lot happier and play better and that’s what’s happening with Bamford at the moment.”
Bamford has now got three times as many goals in three games as he had in his previous 27 Premier League appearances.
He also scored in three consecutive games for the first time in his career.
Can he make it four against Man City? That really would see him make the headlines.
