Leeds United fans can surely breathe sigh of relief after latest Elland Road transfer news

It has been a roller-coaster few years for Leeds United and their supporters, with the club finally making it back into the Premier League before dropping back down into the Championship once more.

And the roller-coaster journey looks certain to continue in the years to come, with Daniel Farke now the man tasked with getting the club back into the top flight.

That has already proven to be a hugely difficult challenge, with the Whites winning just one of their five league matches so far this season.

Many of their struggles have come due to the players they have lost, either on permanent or temporary deals, following the club’s relegation from the Premier League in May.

And the Whites have continued their business beyond the transfer window, with midfielder Jack Jenkins joining Scunthorpe United on loan until January, as per the official club website. Remarkably, the 21-year-old’s temporary exit represents the 12th such move at Elland Road this season.

The youngster is one of a dozen players who will spend the new campaign away from their parent club, following the likes of senior stars Robin Koch, Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson and Jack Harrison among others.

The senior players leaving Elland Road will worry fans, but not so much the exit of Jenkins. Not because he is a fringe player, however, but more so because it strongly suggests that Farke is seemingly satisfied with his current squad depth.

Even with just one senior appearance to his name, Jenkins moving on temporarily implies that the manager feels there is no need to panic whatsoever in terms of options available to him in every area of the pitch.

If panic was the feeling at Elland Road, the German simply would not have allowed so many youngsters – including Jenkins – to leave on loan.

The manager was perhaps effortless in stopping first-team stars from leaving due to contract clauses, but letting the likes of Sam Greenwood, Cody Drameh and Sonny Perkins go means fans can breathe a sigh of relief in terms of squad size and subsequently competition for places.

In other Leeds United news, a journalist has shared an “every chance” promotion verdict amid a Farke issue at Elland Road.
