YEP details what Leeds players must do every morning during isolation after training disbands

Leeds United have taken the decision to disband group training at Thorp Arch and have sent players home with a strict training programme and diet plan, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper reports that no members of Marcelo Bielsa’s coaching team or his squad are suffering from the symptoms of coronavirus but measures have been taken to stop the disease spreading at the club.

It is understood that while the Leeds players are in isolation they must weigh in every morning to submit body fat and weight details, which are most likely to be monitored by Bielsa and his staff to ensure players are following their programmes.

Leeds have pretty much had no option but to send players to train at home after the government’s advice changed in the last couple of days.

Leeds are not the only top Championship club to do this with the Express & Star reporting that promotion rivals West Brom have also taken a similar step in the last 24 hours.

It is a shame that Bielsa cannot continue running his usual training sessions but in light of the growing coronavirus pandemic, the health and safety of everyone has to be the most important priority.

Football will reconvene at some point.

We don’t know when and we’re not sure what it will be like once it does but at the moment, it is not a priority.
