Victor Orta comments on the ‘big mistake’ he could have made at Leeds with Bielsa
Victor Orta has admitted that it would be a massive mistake if he made a signing without the green light from Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The Director of football at Elland Road claimed that he has never made the mistake of not involving the manager in every signing he has ever made.
Orta has previously been accused by Leeds fans of making his own signings and even influencing the starting XI at Elland Road.

Orta made the admission recently, although there may be some changes to the summer transfer window depending on what happens after this enforced break.
“For me, it’s not Bielsa, it’s any manager. If you don’t involve the manager in the recruitment you are making a big mistake,” he said at a conference via Leeds Live.
“This secures more success in a signing if you don’t take a decision on your own. I never in my career signed a player without the ‘OK’ of a manager.”

No matter who Orta was to bring in during this past two years was due to succeed in West Yorkshire, that is exactly how good Bielsa is.
Bielsa has transformed a squad with limited signings during his time at Thorp Arch, with his aggressive training methods enough to change any player – many admitting that during their time at the club.
One thing that is clear, is the passion of Orta and how much he wants to earn promotion – with many peoples questioning turning into love for the Spaniard in the past year.
