‘Truly awful’, ‘Is that real?’ – Some Leeds fans react as new Adidas training kit unveiled
Leeds United have put some new training gear on sale just ahead of Christmas but it’s been met with almost universal disdain from the fans.
The kit looks like a bright mint green with the Adidas stripes down the arms.
It’s certainly stretching it as far as Leeds colours go with one fan saying, “That’s awful, why are we insistent on all these different colours other than white yellow and blue?”
The training gear was posted on Twitter by a Leeds fan who spotted it in the official shop saying, “New training gear out the day before Xmas Eve. Decent planning.”
Leeds are becoming accustomed to bad reactions on Twitter.
The new green striped and maroon away kits didn’t go down well either but they’ve now been accepted and are selling well.
Nothing will ever match the reaction to the ill-fated redesigned Leeds badge, though, that led to a massive petition before getting scrapped.
However, it’s very tough to find any positive reactions to the new training kit.
The best we could find was one saying, “Don’t think it’s too bad, just a weird colour for Leeds.”

The battle for clubs at the moment is between tradition and fashion when it comes to kit. The Man City away kit is possibly the worst thing we’ve seen this season.
We don’t actually mind the new training gear too much but it definitely doesn’t say Leeds.
However, it is just training gear and we’ve no doubt it will look good on the players. We’ve also got no doubt that it will sell no matter what the fans are saying on Twitter.
One Leeds fan summed it up the best when he said, “Looking forward to a month of complaining about the design, followed by six months of complaining that it’s all out of stock.”
At least it’s not red.
Here are the best, or rather the worst, of the rest of the reactions to the new training kit…
