‘The problem is’ – Jamie O’Hara pinpoints one big issue that will stop Leeds getting promoted
talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has said that if Leeds United keep relying on Patrick Bamford they will miss out on automatic promotion.
Leeds’ recent form has been absolutely awful.
The form table for the last 10 games shows them in the dropzone after a storming start to the season.
Bamford blanked again against Forest on Saturday and is still on just 12 goals for the season.
New striker signing Jean-Kevin Augustin came on for his debut for the last 20 minutes against Forest with the score at 1-0, but he couldn’t fashion an equaliser.
Talking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show (talkSPORT, Monday, 6am), O’Hara delivered a fairly stark warning to Leeds fans.
“Leeds have got a good squad of players and they need to use them.
“The problem is, for me, that Bamford is the focal point of the Leeds attack and he’s not scoring goals.
“They’re relying on him and that’s why Leeds for me are going to end up not going up.”
You won’t find many Leeds fans disagreeing with this at the moment but Bamford isn’t the only problem at Leeds.
He missed a few decent chances on Saturday but the delivery from Helder Costa and Jack Harrison on the wings was awful.
Harrison put in five crosses and none of them were accurate. Costa put in eight and only one was accurate. Bamford managed to make a right hash of that. [WyScout]
Marcelo Bielsa does have a squad and he needs to start utilising it. For the good of everyone, some changes need to be made for the game against Brentford on Tuesday.
