‘Superpower’ – Exclusive: Pundit thrilled as Radrizzani delivers ‘absolutely huge’ QSI reveal

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has said that a hook-up between Leeds and QSI would be ‘absolutely huge’ after Andrea Radrizzani said he would take more investment in the club when promoted to the Premier League.

In an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio last week, Radrizzani said, “Of course, there is an excellent relationship on a personal level [with QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi], a desire to do something together…

“My desire is to make Leeds a big player in the Premier League and to do so we will need to have new partners… We will evaluate it when we are in that league.”

Radrizzani had previously said that QSI investment could take Leeds into the same spending bracket as Man City.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson was thrilled by the prospect of Radrizzani and Al-Khelaifi joining forces at Leeds.

“Nasser Al-Khelaifi owns Paris Saint-Germain, he’s a very clever football and businessman is Nasser. You can see his global enterprises, his global companies.

“To have someone like that, a superpower of business and knowledge of sport and football getting involved would be absolutely huge for Leeds.

“I think he’s done deals in the past with Radrizzani because he owns the Eleven Sports company, Nasser is chairman of beIN Media, so that would be a great fit to have two clever passionate business and football men together.”

Radrizzani also namechecked the San Francisco 49ers, who already have a 12% stake in the club, in his interview.

“They’re a huge global company,” added Robinson. “Investment from either would be absolutely fantastic for Leeds.”

Leeds are seemingly on the brink of a return to the big time, with promotion in their sights if the 19/20 season resumes and two big powers in the sporting world as potential investors.

The Coronavirus outbreak has provided yet another hurdle for the club to navigate but hopefully that’s just a delay to the inevitable.
