Stan Collymore hits out at Leeds United transfer policy this summer
Stan Collymore has hit out at Leeds United and the transfer activity that they have conducted so far this summer ahead of the new Premier League season.
Leeds have been extremely active in the transfer window thus far with Jesse Marsch looking to revamp his squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
However, despite the influx of new signings, Collymore believes the Whites should be looking to bring in some older, more experienced heads.

As quoted by The Mirror on Wednesday (6 July), Collymore said: “Raphinha is off, Kalvin Phillips has already gone, so the question is: What next for Leeds United?
“Do they want to be an experimental young side whose players are picked off by bigger clubs?
“Or do they want to be a side who isn’t flirting with relegation from the Premier League again this year and for several years to come?
“They need to populate the squad with players who are 29, 30, 31 or maybe even older.”
Disagree
There is no doubting that Phillips and Raphinha will be huge losses for the Whites going forward, but what more can Marsch do?
Leeds have been adequately looking to replace their star men with young talent that can develop whilst at Elland Road and give the Whites a potential sell-on value.
It is hard to see what more the club hierarchy could’ve done at present.
Collymore is right about the experience of senior pros, but ultimately signing older players offers no financial gain for the club going forward.

Leeds’ new signings will gain experience in the Premier League whilst at Elland Road and hopefully take the Whites to a respectable finish in the 2022/23 campaign.
Phillips and Raphinha will be tough to replace properly, but the Whites’ new additions will certainly soften the blow of losing their star men.
In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips and sign him along with Tyler Adams.
