Report: Bielsa left rival Championship manager frustrated with length of Leeds press conference

Alex Neil did not take part in the post-match press conference on Boxing Day due to being frustrated by how long Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa manager took to talk to the media, according to LeedsLive.

The news outlet claims that the Preston boss grew frustrated with Bielsa taking over 20 minutes to speak to the press after the Yorkshire club drew 1-1 with North End at Elland Road on Thursday.

It is understood that stewards gave Neil a “frosty reception” at the doors to the press room and the Preston boss made his way to the team coach shortly after.

Bielsa does, admittedly, take a long time to talk to the press due to his use of an interpreter and the fact that he rarely gives short answers to any question.

Neil would probably have waited around on any normal day but the fact that it was a late kick-off on Boxing Day might have led to him growing more impatient than usual.

Who wants to be waiting around to talk to the press the day after Christmas?

Neil can be forgiven for this to be fair to him but it would have been nice for him to show a bit more patience when Bielsa clearly needs a little bit more time than others to speak to the media.

In other Leeds United news, Pep Clotet has admitted to having stolen something from Bielsa.
