Rene Maric had to stop Tyler Adams to calm him down on pitch after Leeds United draw v Aston Villa
Rene Maric had to stop Tyler Adams to calm him down on the Elland Road pitch in front of everyone after Leeds United drew 0-0 with Aston Villa over the weekend.
That’s according to Graham Smyth and Joe Donnohue, who both shared that the American was fuming, with the theory in the press room being that his anger was directed at Stuart Attwell.
Luis Sinisterra was shown his marching orders early in the second half which led to Leeds having to defend for more than 40 minutes to take home one point.

Donnohue started the conversation on the Inside Elland Road Podcast after what he spotted on the pitch at Elland Road after the final whistle over the weekend, where tensions were running high.
“You could see him having conversations on the pitch with players after the game,” he said. “It wasn’t something where he thought it wasn’t his place to do or conduct these conversations.
“He was actually doing a bit of calming down of Tyler Adams, not entirely sure what that was about but he did seem agitated.”
Smyth jumped in after and shared theories that were going around the press room after: “He did, someone in the press room posted the theory that he wanted to get to the referee and have a word but Maric had stopped him and maybe Adams was venting.
“But, Adams wasn’t happy with something.”

Passion.
If there is one player that leaves everything out on the pitch, it is Adams.
The American international throws everything at the opposition but also isn’t afraid to speak his mind, something that could potentially get him into trouble.
The last thing that Leeds need after losing Sinisterra for the trip to Crystal Palace, was Adams doing or saying something stupid to Attwell which led to another potential ban.
Maric looks to have seen that early and intervened to calm his midfielder down as Jesse Marsch was serving his touchline ban at Elland Road.
Given how shocking Attwell was, it potentially wouldn’t have taken much so that game is over, it is best to move on and only have eyes on Crystal Palace.
Marsch looks to have his backroom team nailed down with Maric coming in this season to join Mark Jackson and others, with it looking like a good bond so far.
Long may that continue and we pick up three points at Selhurst Park to bounce back this weekend.
