Phil Hay: Raphinha was visibly frustrated towards end of Marcelo Bielsa, Jesse Marsch could help
Phil Hay has insisted that Leeds United winger Raphinha was visibly frustrated towards the end of Marcelo Bielsa’s reign.
The Athletic journalist admitted that Jesse Marsch could be the perfect man to bring back the spark that has been so clearly missing.
Marsch has already spoken out about the superstar coming to him and suggesting ideas, something we doubt happened previously.

Speaking on the Phil Hay Show today (10 March), the journalist took time out to address the Brazilian in recent months.
“Raphinha was one of the players who seemed, and clearly was, to some extent frustrated in the back end of Bielsa’s time and in that particularly bad run of games from Man United to Tottenham,” he said.
“They do need to find something in him, they do need to get him back to the level that he was at previously.
“Perhaps if Marsch is more accessible and easier to engage with, that may help.”

Perfect.
Raphinha is the one spark that we need back to the top of his game, and hopefully, we can see signs of that even more against Aston Villa.
Three points this evening would be huge, and if the Brazilian is at the top of his game, we could see that happen easily.
Raphinha has had ideas for the new system while the ball is in play, and also from set-pieces – something we have been crying out for and saw at Leicester on Saturday.
If it wasn’t for Kasper Schmeichel in goal, Rodrigo would have been wheeling away to celebrate nodding home from the Brazilian’s delivery in the second half.
It’s all change at Elland Road, and hopefully, it is all for the better this season and beyond, although none of this is a dig at Bielsa, he will be forever remembered.
