Phil Hay drops early matchday Leeds United team news v Crystal Palace

Phil Hay has dropped the early Leeds United team news and what he expects at Crystal Palace this evening.

Crysencio Summerville is expected to stay on the bench, with Dan James keeping his spot in the forward two.

Hay shared the expected news that Kalvin Phillips will start too with Jesse Marsch not predicted to make drastic changes.

Writing in his matchday Q&A for The Athletic, Hay shared what he expects from the team at Selhurst Park.

“Phillips is in line to start,” he wrote. “I don’t think that can even be up for debate with Forshaw missing.

“Summerville played for the 23s on Friday. Personally, I won’t be surprised if Marsch sticks with much the same team as he picked at Watford – most likely with James at nine again.”

Big shout.

After yet another lightning performance against Manchester City under-23s on Friday, the calls for Summerville have grown.

The Dutch speedster is quickly approaching Joe Gelhardt territory where fans will soon demand he gets more first-team minutes.

Summerville came off the bench at Watford and really looks to be enjoying his football at this moment in time.

With the game at Crystal Palace becoming even more important due to other results, Leeds need a big performance.

Marsch is surely guaranteed to stick with Raphinha and Jack Harrison, with those two our game changers in recent weeks.

Tonight isn’t the time for experimenting, we are desperate for three points given our next three games after this – please, Leeds.
