Patrick Bamford sends warning to rest of the Championship
Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford has claimed that the Whites are quietly confident of sealing promotion to the Premier League.
The striker admits that Marcelo Bielsa’s men have learned from the mistakes of last season and are ready to go out and prove that.
Leeds currently sit seven-points ahead of third-placed Fulham with nine Championship games to play in the space of a month.
Bamford reiterated how big of a chance this is for the Whites, who aren’t ready to let it slip away yet again.
“We know what the Championship’s like,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“We’re quietly confident that we have the ability to do it, and we’ve learned from our mistakes, but we’ve still got to prove it.
“To get a real go at the Premier League, this is a brilliant chance, so we’re not letting anything get in the way of our focus.”
This is exactly the type of attitude we want to be seeing from each and every player in the squad, and it has started from the top with Liam Cooper.
The Leeds skipper has admitted that he believes his teammates are the fittest and strongest in the division and that they are ready to prove it.
Everyone remembers the pain of the defeat to Derby in the play-offs last season, and with that in mind, Bielsa and his squad have set their sights on the title and automatic promotion – bring it home.
