Patrick Bamford fit and should be in Leeds squad v West Ham – David Anderson

Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford has finally recovered from his hamstring injury this week, according to David Anderson.

The Mirror journalist has reported that the England international should be involved for the Whites in their FA Cup trip to West Ham.

Bamford has played once since September, scoring and only injuring himself again in the 2-2 draw with Brentford.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this afternoon (6th January), Anderson shared the news that everyone was waiting for.

“Patrick Bamford has recovered from his hamstring injury and should be included in Leeds’ squad for Sunday’s FA Cup clash with West Ham,” he wrote.

Brilliant.

This is the news we have all been waiting for, and it comes at the perfect time too for everyone at the club.

Tyler Roberts has been filling in that gap since Bamford dropped out of the squad, and the Welshman pulled up injured in the 3-1 win against Burnley on Sunday.

With an absence expected, Bamford should likely take his spot and look to make it his own once again moving forward into the New Year.

Marcelo Bielsa will want to be cautious given how Bamford came back previously and only managed 10 minutes, so a spot on the bench is likely at the London Stadium.

Joe Gelhardt will probably start this one, and after his assist in that win over Burnley, there will be a lot of hype behind him once again.

Bamford will most likely be back to 100% for the Premier League clash against West Ham at the same venue the week after – we can expect him to start then.
