MOT View: Timely multi-million pound boost critical for Leeds after worrying report

Some Leeds United fans were unhappy when they received a reminder about renewing their season tickets for the 20/21 season earlier this week.

Many fans will be facing financial worries and no one knows what’s happening with this season let alone the next.

The renewal date for season tickets is March 27 and we’ve heard that so far Leeds have sold 16,000 of the 23,000 total.

Leeds say that there are no plans to make any more season tickets available and the ticket prices have been frozen from the 19/20 campaign.

We can completely empathise with the Leeds fans who are worried or struggling.

However, Leeds are struggling along with every other business in the UK.

A report in the Daily Mail has claimed that six Championship clubs are in real trouble and named Leeds as one of the most vulnerable.

There’s been talks of cuts to wages across the board.

We’re not saying this to elicit sympathy for Leeds as a business over and above supporters, but the multi-millions the season ticket renewals will bring in will give the club a real boost.

Everyone is entering new territory at the moment and mistakes are being made.

We think Leeds could have communicated better with fans over this.

However, more than ever Leeds needs the support of its fanbase and we’re desperately hoping that fans that can afford to renew will be rewarded with 20/21 in the Premier League.
