Many Leeds fans say same thing about Marcelo Bielsa after official club tweet
Leeds United fans are urging the club to sort out a new contract for manager Marcelo Bielsa after he was nominated for the Championship manager of the month.
Leeds’ official Twitter account posted a tweet on Thursday evening to say that Bielsa could win the award after winning six matches in July.
Bielsa also sealed the Championship title for Leeds this month while also guiding them to automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Has a manager ever deserved an award so much?
Bielsa’s already been named as the LMA Championship manager of the season so it is a no-brainer for him to be named as the manager of the month for July.
Of course, there are others in the running. Swansea’s Steve Cooper might have been a serious contender if his side hadn’t lost to Brentford in the play-off semi-finals while Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber is surely in the running too.
But none of their achievements match Bielsa’s, who has taken a club back to the Premier League after 16 years and did so in absolute style.
Leeds fans were quick to respond to the official tweet about Bielsa but it seems they have something else on their mind with the Argentine’s contract situation yet to be resolved.

BBC Radio Leeds broadcaster Adam Pope has said that people who are close to Bielsa are “confident” he will stay put at Elland Road.
We’re very much in a holiday period at the moment where everyone is taking some time off.
We fully expect Bielsa to sign a new contract in the coming weeks.
