Many Leeds fans blast ‘Garbage’ international for display v QPR: ‘Offers nothing’, ‘Dreadful’
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to blast Mateusz Klich for his performance in the 1-0 defeat to QPR on Saturday.
Klich, 29, was practically anonymous for Leeds as they were beaten at Loftus Road in a game marred by controversy.
Although Nahki Wells’ goal in the first half should have been ruled out for a handball, Leeds only have themselves to blame for what was arguably one of their most pathetic performances under Marcelo Bielsa.
QPR were there for the taking. They had the second-worst defensive record in the Championship going into the game but Leeds could not even get on the scoresheet against them.
Klich’s toothless display in the heart of the midfield did not help.
Although no one had a good game for Leeds, the fact that the Poland international went missing for what felt like the whole 90 minutes says it all.
According to stats by WhoScored, Klich completed just 34 passes, which was the fewest number of passes he’s made in a match since the win against QPR at Elland Road in October.
He also had just 47 touches of the ball in his 87 minutes on the pitch. In comparison to his team-mates, Pablo Hernandez had 94 touches and even goalkeeper Kiko Casilla managed 43.
Leeds fans are understandably annoyed with how bad the Polish midfielder played and some are suggesting that Marcelo Bielsa should drop him.
Maybe he would if he had any other available central midfielders.
