Legal formalities to complete as breaking Leeds United news on Jack Harrison contract shared on Sky Sports

Dharmesh Sheth has shared that Leeds United still need to complete some “legal formalities” before announcing the new contract for Jack Harrison this week.

The Sky Sports journalist shared the breaking news from Elland Road today with the winger having agreed terms on an improved deal in West Yorkshire.

It is expected that the contract will be formalised in the next 24 hours, so there shouldn’t be any major hiccups before this one is confirmed.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, as shared on Twitter (06 April), Sheth shared all that is left to complete before the announcement is made.

“More breaking news this hour and it is a boost for Leeds United as they prepare to face Crystal Palace on Super Sunday,” he said. “Massive game at the bottom of the table.

“It is that Jack Harrison has agreed terms on an improved contract at Leeds, and he’s expected to formalise that contract in the next 24 hours.

“There’s a full agreement now, we understand, between both parties, a few minor legal formalities to complete but Jack Harrison, who scored the equaliser for Leeds against Nottingham Forest in midweek, set to sign a new contract.”

Get it done.

It looks as though this is as good as done.

With the contract expected to be made formal in the next 24 hours, it doesn’t look as though anything can hold this one up with the relevant paperwork likely needing to be signed.

It shows how you can turn things around in the space of a few months.

After enduring a very poor start to the season under Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia has come in and transformed Harrison back into what he loves most – a wide player who can go at his man.

Marsch tried to play too centrally despite having some cracking wingers available to him, and to no surprise whatsoever, he lost his job and now width is our biggest weapon.

With his form already sky-high, it will be no surprise to see Harrison go up another level with the backing of the club and a new contract behind him.

Hopefully, that starts on Sunday against Crystal Palace.

In other Leeds news, the club want to sign a La Liga ace that has a £85.7m release clause.
