Leeds United to be without Luis Sinisterra for at least 10 days – Phil Hay
The extent of Luis Sinisterra’s injury has been revealed as Leeds United are likely to not have their new signing for the opening game of the season.
That is according to The Athletic’s Leeds reporter Phil Hay who gave an update based on what he knows about the Colombina hamstring injury he sustained on tour in Australia.
His misfortune for the Whites came on his first start of the pre-season tour where he lasted less than 15 minutes before being forced off.

“From what I’m told, Sinisterra’s hamstring looked like a 10-day to two-week injury so while he most likely won’t feature today, he shouldn’t be too far away either,” Hay said.
The 23-year-old is at least getting close to fitness but with the first game of the new season at home to Wolves in just six days’ time, it seems highly unlikely he will be ready to play by then.
Could’ve been worse
It’s never good to see one of your players out injured but Leeds United can breathe a big sigh of relief that the Colombian is not out of action for much longer.
Many Whites will have feared the worst when they saw Sinisterra drop to the floor down under and not make another appearance in pre-season but it could have been so much worse.

His introduction to the Elland Road crowd will have to wait longer than that of fellow new recruits Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Tyler Adams but it surely won’t be long.
He may have to start as a substitute for a couple of games to slowly build his fitness back up but soon enough he will be flying down the wing and making a big impact on the Premier League.
Until then, Jack Harrison and Daniel James may have to be the wing wizards to create the chances required to see Jesse Marsch and Leeds get off to a good start in the 2022-23 season.
In other Leeds United news, after six signings so far this summer, the Whites could be prepared to allow a quintet of individuals to leave the club in August.
