Leeds United Super Fans react as Crystal Palace join Lewis O’Brien race
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road.
A section of Leeds United fans have hit out at the club after it was reported that Crystal Palace threaten to hijack a move for Huddersfield’s Lewis O’Brien.
Football Insider has reported that Palace are looking to beat Leeds to yet another midfield signing this summer after they landed Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea last month.
According to the Mail on Sunday [August 8, page 138], Leeds have already seen a £3million bid for O’Brien, 22, rejected by Huddersfield and are lining up a new offer.

However, it seems their pursuit of the Terriers central midfielder is now under threat from Palace.
Some fans are frustrated by the Whites’ protracted bid to sign O’Brien while one has suggested signing Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Hertha Berlin instead.
One fan, however, feels as though it’s a “joke” that Leeds are struggling to land O’Brien.
Here is what our panel of Leeds Super Fans said:

Whether you rate O’Brien or not, Bielsa clearly does because otherwise, the Whites would not be chasing the Terriers ace so much.
If a bid has been made than it’s bound to have been sanctioned by the Leeds United manager and honestly, who are we to argue with him?
If Palace come in and sign O’Brien, it would not be the end of the world but it would be very frustrating given what happened with Gallagher last month.
We’re getting the feeling that Leeds would rather sign no one at all than the wrong player so if we do miss out on O’Brien, we might not see anyone come in to play in the midfield.
