Leeds United have ‘winner’ in Jesse Marsch – MLS coach Jim Curtin

Ever since Jesse Marsch has arrived at Leeds United, the Whites have been resurgent in the Premier League to drag themselves away from relegation trouble.

A tricky start was quickly forgotten about as Leeds have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four matches with the American largely the reason for the improved mentality around the club.

Marsch’s former foe in the MLS, Jim Curtin, is not surprised by his compatriot’s success across the pond and anticipates that there are many more successes to come for him at Elland Road.

“I can say with confidence: Leeds fans should know they’re in the hands of someone who wants nothing more than to win,” Curtin said in an interview with the MLS website.

“He wants nothing more than to improve the players. I have no doubt he can keep them up and I have full confidence he’ll do it.

“The biggest compliment I can give is that Jesse Marsch is a winner, he has been from day one, and always will be.”

Ticket to Europe

There is no doubting the wonderful job Marcelo Bielsa did with the Whites but he had reached the end of the road when he was eventually sacked at the end of February.

Many fans were, understandably, sad about the news but the arrival of Marsch quickly turned those frowns upside down.

With the 33-year-old at the helm, there is genuine potential for Leeds United to push on to be not only a top-half Premier League side, but one that contests for European places and wins trophies.

He will need plenty of investment and patience from the Whites board as he looks to rebuild a squad in his vision but if they can put their full faith in him, the possibilities are unlimited.

Not many clubs can say that with full confidence but if Marsch is half as good as Curtin makes out, we’ve got one helluva manager on our hands.
