Leeds fans forced to wait for Adidas kit as Whites deliver hint on August release date
Leeds United have announced two major sponsorship deals on Monday, but fans are still being made to wait to see the Whites’ Adidas kit.
First of all, the Whites confirmed that Clipper have extended their sponsorship deal and will now be on the front of all training gear that the squad wears.
More importantly, SBOTOP were then confirmed as Leeds’ front-of-shirt sponsor from the 2020/21 season onwards.
It has been described as the club’s largest commercial deal in their history, as we get closer to seeing the famous three stripes.
We believed it would be announced in the next week, but in the same report as the sponsorship was confirmed, the club delivered a hint at the release date of the strip.
“The SBOTOP logo will feature on the front of our new Adidas kit, due to launch later this month, as well as appearing as a sponsor on the club’s official training wear,” it was shared on the official website.
A Leeds fan account on Twitter has been able to put together what the home kit may look like next season with SBOTOP on the front, and we have to say it looks good.
It keeps things simple and goes back to the famous blue and white, rather than having silver and other random colours that have been placed on kits by Kappa in recent years.
SBOTOP executive director Bill Mummery admitted that he may be able to participate in the reveal which will be in three weeks time – not as imminent as we once thought.
We can’t wait to see the famous three stripes at Elland Road, but it looks like we may have to wait for a number of weeks before the reveal.
