Leeds United confident that Jack Harrison will sign a new contract at Elland Road – journalist
Leeds United are “confident” that Jack Harrison will put pen to paper and sign a new contract at Elland Road soon, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Harrison, 26, is close to ending the speculation surrounding his long-term future and is looking to broker a deal with the director of football Victor Orta.
The Whites are desperate to reach an agreement with the fan favourite entering the last 18 months of his contract in January, and after two failed bids from Newcastle United in the summer, he won’t have any shortage of suitors if he isn’t tied down by the club [The Athletic].

Former EuroSport journalist Jones believes the long-term future of the attacker is all but secured, giving Leeds a stronger position to approach the January transfer window in.
He told Give Me Sport: “I’ve checked this out and sources close to it are saying that Leeds are confident that he will sign that new contract soon.”

Return to form
Although Harrison has undoubtedly been at his best form so far this season, batting away the likes of Newcastle United from a potential transfer is a sign of intent from Leeds.
It shows The Whites aren’t willing to sell on their best-quality stars for a lucrative fee, and this must be applauded.
The Englishman also looked like he rediscovered some of his long-lost form in the friendly win over Elche in Spain.
He looked lively on the left flank throughout the match and considering his long stint on the sidelines, showed decent fitness.
The winger provided the crucial ball to Sam Greenwood, who would then assist Jesse Marsch’s side’s first goal of the evening in what capped off a timely return to form.
If the injury to Crysencio Summerville is more major than first thought, Harrison’s form could prove crucial to Leeds’ festive period and early form in the New Year.
In other Leeds United news, 36 scouts recently showed up to watch multiple Leeds sensations with as many as four exits on the cards in the January transfer window.
