Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has spoken to officials over time-wasting gripes

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has revealed that he has spoken to Premier League officials over his time-wasting gripes and believes he has found an answer to the team’s problems.

Marsch has been vocal over his concerns about time-wasting in the English top flight, specifically in Leeds’ most recent fixtures against Everton and Aston Villa.

He claims there will be “adjustments” made and that people have been “open to discussion” in a positive way, a step forward in his time-wasting battle.

“We tried to have some open dialogue with the officials and the league and the discourse was helpful and people are aligned,” Marsch said as quoted by the Independent.

“It’s not great for the game to have time-wasting so I think they’ll try to make adjustments. One of the things I said was that our next home match was against Arsenal and I doubt we’ll see them time-waste. But I appreciate people have been open to the discussion in a good way.”

Positive.

This is a positive step from the Leeds United boss and one that needed to be made for the standard of the Premier League moving forward.

Time-wasting tactics should have no place in the beautiful game and it’s great to see Marsch taking the matter head-on and now getting a resolution.

It remains to be seen what changes will have been made, but we’ll likely see the fruition of Marsch’s talks in the coming weeks.

Multiple games have been affected by poor tactics from managers to try and influence results and seeing the back of it is a needed change for all.

Leeds play Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon and will be looking to put a four-game winless streak to bed, recapturing some of that early-season good form.

Marsch can now head into the fixture with a clearer mind over his biggest worry, hopefully, his concerns have now been answered.
