Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch expresses disappointment in Harvey Sutcliffe injury
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has had his say on youngster Harvey Sutcliffe’s long-term ACL injury sustained in the Under-21s Premier League 2 fixture on Monday.
Sutcliffe is highly thought of at Leeds United and has been part of the impressive Under-21s side causing a stir in the Premier League 2 this season.
Marsch expressed his disappointment in the youngster sustaining the terrible injury but claimed he will come back “really strong, fit, and ready to go.”

“It’s been diagnosed a torn ACL, so we’re all very disappointed for Harvey,” said Marsch as quoted by Leedsunited.com.
“He’s been a very good player for the Under-21s and has flexibility of where he can play in the back line.
“I think he was initially shocked because he has done his ACL on the same knee before, so we were all with him in that, but I think he’s doing better now.
“He knows what the process is and he knows he came back really strong from it the first time. We will get him taken care of and look after him, to get back again really strong, fit, and ready to go.”

Tough.
This will be a tough one to take for Sutcliffe, he has been emerging as a top talent this season in the Premier League 2 and promised to offer the first-team some versatility when needed.
The youngster is comfortable playing both left and right-back and it’s this “flexibility” that Marsch highlighted that Leeds can reap the benefits of moving forward.
Leeds United are currently pretty short of personnel in the left-back position, with Junior Firpo’s ongoing injury issues, although he looks ready to go now.
And the Yorkshire-born wonder could’ve been a solid option for Marsch this campaign to look to if things went south in the first-team.
Sutcliffe is obviously thought of highly by the Leeds Hierarchy, with Victor Orta handing the starlet a professional contract over the summer.
This will keep him at the club for two more years, not long, so hopefully, he can make a come back from the serious injury sooner rather than later.
