Leeds star opens up on recent viral clip that ‘didn’t look too good’

Leeds United defender Stuart Dallas has claimed it wasn’t the smartest thing to swap shirts with Erling Haaland in last month’s internationals.

Everyone will remember the video clip that went viral of Haaland stopping Dallas, and asking for his shirt due to his Leeds links.

Dallas revealed that the Norwegian sensation said Marching on Together, with his dad, Alfie having played for the Whites.

Dallas opened up on the exchange recently, claiming that it didn’t look good after Northern Ireland were taken to the cleaners.

“I’m not one for swapping shirts,” Dallas told talkSPORT. “I like to keep my own shirt, no matter who I play against.

“He walked behind me and asked about swapping shirts. It probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, because we’d just been beaten 5-1 and I’m laughing on camera.

“It probably didn’t look too good. I thought he meant inside, but he shouted at me and asked to do it now.”

We understand where Dallas is coming from, but he is possibly reading too much into it having looked back at the footage.

Either way, the Northern Ireland fans will have looked past it by now, especially after the Leeds defender played a vital role in their penalty shootout over Bosnia this week.

Dallas is idolised in his country for his performances in recent years, and no one would have thought anything more over him swapping his shirt – that just shows how much it means to him.
