Leeds set for triple injury boost ahead of Norwich clash next week

Leeds United are closing in on the return to fitness for Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford in the next week.

Phil Hay has shed light on Marcelo Bielsa’s comments this week, who admitted all three would miss the next two games – that includes Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

The Whites travel to Norwich in the Premier League next Sunday, and it looks as though that could be a “mega” clash.

Writing in the Athletic comments of his latest piece, Hay shared an insight into what the squad may look like next week.

“I believe he was talking about Arsenal, yes,” he wrote.

“Sounded like all three might be back for Norwich, which could be a mega game.”

Mega.

Stuart Dallas and Jamie Shackleton have filled the roles at full-back easily over the past month, so that isn’t the main concern.

Rodrigo has failed to do the same in the final third, and although showing some bright sparks, he has yet to find the back of the net.

The Spaniard has been crying out to start as the number nine at Elland Road, and after finally earning that chance, he hasn’t grasped it one little bit.

Having these three back would be a major boost to the Whites, and there is no hiding from the fact that we are desperate for three points right now, and this is surely bound the help our cause.

So, with Wolves tomorrow and Arsenal in the Carabao Cup to come, it looks as though we could have an almost fully fit squad after those two – beware, Norwich.
