Junior Firpo picks up new injury blow after missing Leeds United v Aston Villa – Phil Hay
Leeds United defender Junior Firpo has yet another injury issue to deal with after missing the 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist shared that the knock was picked up after a cameo appearance in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday 2nd October off the bench.
Firpo is yet to start a game in the Premier League this season, with Pascal Struijk making the left-back role his own and even scoring against Palace last time out.

Writing on his personal Twitter account after the game, Hay shared the latest on the squad after some noticeable omissions at Selhurst Park.
“On Bamford: ‘He’s clearly physically in good form. We just need to keep getting him fully game-fit and sharp. On a day when he’s sharper, he finds a goal.’
“Firpo had an injury issue after the Villa game so wasn’t involved today.”
Shocker.
Could this piece of business really get any worst?
We all wanted it to work for Firpo this season after he started pre-season on fire against Blackpool, but in that same game, he picked up a problem and was out for months.
After finally returning, he couldn’t wrestle that spot back off Struijk and now he has picked up yet another issue, something which appears to happen each time he steps out.
Jesse Marsch will not be happy with that, with his options limited at left-back although Struijk is certainly holding his own in that role so far this season.
When arriving from Barcelona last summer, hopes were high but his erratic displays combined with the injury issues have led to many fans asking for him to be sold already.
It’s not worked out so far, he will know that himself, with these problems needing to stop before we can make any real judgement on the Spaniard.
In other Leeds United news, this player could be first in the Elland Road boardroom as new contract talks may take centre stage
