Journalist shares ‘gruesome’ Leeds United relegation verdict after heavy back-to-back losses
Leeds United are in “serious jeopardy” after suffering two “gruesome” defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Liverpool, according to Yorkshire Post journalist Leon Wobschall.
The Whites lost 5-1 at home to the Eagles earlier this month and followed that up with a 6-1 home loss to the Reds.
The defeats leave the club sitting 16th in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to Fulham on Saturday (23 April).

“In the wake of not one, but two humiliating home defeats to Liverpool and Crystal Palace, which have put their Premier League survival hopes into serious jeopardy, United’s squad must now face the opprobrium,” Wobschall wrote for The Yorkshire Post.
“A lack of desire is one charge that has been thrown at the players’ door. Head coach Javi Gracia says that accusation is untrue, but accepts the rights of any supporter to say it, given two gruesome episodes.”

Nervous moments
It’s an extremely nervy time to be a Leeds supporter, with many Whites fans not quite believing that their club could once again be so close to the drop after just avoiding relegation last season.
The West Yorkshire outfit survived by just three points last time out, finishing with a total of 38 points from their 38 matches.
This time around, they are only two points outside the bottom three, and face many difficult matches between now and the end of the season.
The damaging defeats to Palace and Liverpool were felt immediately given they came at Elland Road, but those losses could once again come back to haunt Leeds on the final day if indeed goal difference comes into play.
No team has conceded more goals than the Whites (60) in this season’s Premier League, with manager Gracia desperate to fix the issues at the back in the coming weeks.
In other Leeds United news, Chris Sutton has predicted the result between the Whites and Fulham in their Premier League clash this weekend.
