Jesse Marsch shares what he told Leeds United players after Leicester defeat

Jesse Marsch has shared what he told Leeds United players after the Whites suffered a 1-0 loss against Leicester City on Saturday (5 March).

After a miserable month of February, where the Whites conceded 20 goals and picked up only one point, the club sacked their well-respected manager, Marcelo Bielsa.

Marsch has suggested that he has told his players that the results will follow if they keep playing like this.

The Leeds boss said, as quoted by The Atheltic: “It was a real simple message. That was very positive and a big step in the right direction. I told them that if we keep playing like this we’ll get all the points we need.”

Encouraging

Leeds are living dangerously at the moment, sitting 16thin the table, with only two points above the relegation zone.

However, based on what we’ve seen in the first game under Marsch, it’s really positive, although a draw would have been a fair result.

Leeds were impressive in the first half. They pressed well, and they maintained a solid defensive shape.

Bielsa knew only one way to play, and the Argentine was pretty stubborn in that respect.

The Whites conceded plenty of goals away from home in an attempt to play exciting football.

Marsch has implemented a zonal marking system, and as the players will get to know more about his system, the defence will improve.

The next two games are absolutely vital for the Whites. They face Aston Villa and Norwich City, and Marsch should aim to pick up maximum points from these two games.
