Jesse Marsch doesn’t like Leeds United fans chant of his name

The good times are flowing once again for Leeds United after the Whites travelled down to Watford to smash the Hornets 3-0 at Vicarage Road.

Raphinha got the ball rolling in the first half before Rodrigo and Jack Harrison sent the away end of the ground into raptures with a convincing win on the road.

Jesse Marsch has received plenty of praise since he arrived at Elland Road at the end of February but there is one thing he doesn’t like the fans doing.

“I don’t think it was the first time (they have sung my name),” the American coach said, as quoted by the Independent.

“But, to be honest with you, I appreciate it; I appreciate our fans so much. I love being here in Leeds, I love the area, the city, the people. My family and I are really enjoying our time here.

“So much of my emphasis is on the team and us as a group and what we’re about and how we’re going to achieve things together and any time that it draws attention to me, I don’t necessarily like it.

“But I do want to show appreciation to the fans for reaching out to me.”

We won’t stop

If Marsch is going to keep on inspiring victories like this, then he can expect his name to be sung again and again on the terraces.

The overall performance had very little to complain about at Vicarage Road as the game was controlled by the Whites from start to finish.

It’s not the first time we have looked the far better team although it is the first time we’ve had the game sewn up before stoppage time, which makes a nice change for the nerves.

We are all aware of the team effort that Marsch highlights in his comments but it was the same group of players who shipped 20 goals in four games in February before he took over and he has completely changed the feeling around the club.

LS11 is a vibrant and bouncing place again and it’s mostly down to his arrival and impact, whether he wants to take credit for it or not.
