Javi Gracia arrives at Elland Road to become new Leeds United manager – Sky Sports

Javi Gracia has arrived at Elland Road on Tuesday, February 20 as he prepares to become the new Leeds United manager, according to Sky Sports.

The Spaniard has been spotted in West Yorkshire, with a short-term contract on the table for him to try and guide the Whites out of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Gracia has been there and done it before with Watford in England, with similar magic needed to revitalise this talented Leeds squad that has plummeted.

Updating their post on the Sky Sports’ live blog [21 February, 08:25], the Spaniard has been spotted going into the huge East Stand ahead of the announcement, as shared on Twitter by Football Daily.

“Javi Gracia has arrived at Leeds’ Elland Road after emerging as the lead candidate to become the club’s new head coach,” he wrote.

“Gracia steered Watford to safety in the Premier League and also led them to the FA Cup final during his time at Vicarage Road. He’s available after leaving Qatari side Al Sadd last year.”

Touchdown.

Gracia is in town and the inevitable is about to happen.

After the defeat at Everton, it became very clear that Michael Skubala was out of his depth and needed to be let back into his usual under-21 role.

The Spaniard will hopefully bring a fresh style to Elland Road, finally leaving behind the Marcelo Bielsa obsession and Jesse Marsch who was basically the same.

It is all about making this young, explosive and exciting team more efficient.

If Leeds had put away their chances in each game this season, they would likely be pushing for those top 10 spots, but they are the most wasteful club in England.

That translates to the fewest wins in the top four tiers of English football, which is simply embarrassing, and Gracia has to turn that around immediately with a win against Southampton his first requirement.

Hopefully, he is up for the fight.
