Jamie Redknapp reacts as Patrick Bamford makes England debut

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford finally got the opportunity to make his England debut on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites talisman was hoping to make the EUROs squad after smashing in 17 Premier League goals last season, but it never came.

Despite the Three Lions winning 4-0 at Wembley, Bamford took some criticism for his performance in the final third.

There was a severe lack of service behind him, but that came into no one’s mind as they went to kick Bamford while he was on a high.

Writing on his personal Instagram account after the milestone, the striker celebrated the moment with his followers.

“Can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday,” he wrote. “A dream come true to make my debut for England.”

Jamie Redknapp was one of those to react in the comments, as finally, someone celebrated rather than looking to create a scene.

Celebrate.

Now is a time to rejoice, rather than get on the back of one of our own.

After the EUROs, fans joined together to celebrate the squad and although in different circumstances, go against those that abused the players.

Bamford is now the brunt of it all, with the majority of talkSPORT going against him completely after only 60 minutes of action.

Jamie O’Hara appeared to be the ring-leader and that explains a lot given he didn’t taste much success in his own career.

There is a lot of bitterness in these comments coming from all angles, but Bamford is primed to do what he does best, and that is to prove them all wrong.
