Jack Harrison left bleeding and bruised after Leeds United win against Wolves

Leeds United midfielder Jack Harrison was left bleeding and bruised after the Whites “put everything” into their 4-2 win over Wolves on Saturday, says BT Sport pundit Tony Dorigo.

The Whites climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after holding off a late Wolves fightback to win an enthralling game at Molineux on Saturday [18 March], with goals from Harrison, Luke Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen and Rodrigo.

It was a feisty affair in the West Midlands and after the match, Harrison posted a gruesome image on his Instagram story [Saturday, 18 March] of his bloodied leg, which required stitches at halftime.

And Dorigo praised the performance and togetherness of Javi Gracia’s team. Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post [22 March], he said: “Something else that stood out to me was the all-round togetherness.

“Wober and Koch at the back were superb again but it was such a team performance.

“They put everything into it and took plenty of knocks – Jack Harrison was a prime example, everything was scratched or bleeding or bruised. Patrick Bamford looked a bit sharper, fitter and stronger. From the outside, it looked like these guys are believing in it and giving it their all.”

When you’re down battling against relegation at such a pivotal stage in the Premier League, every single game is a warzone and the Leeds players certainly went to war against their relegation rivals Wolves on Saturday and came up trumps.

There was a big reason for their crucial win as Dorigo correctly pointed out, the Whites players were all playing and battling for each other, the kind of togetherness and team spirit you need when faced with the dreaded drop.

It seems as though Gracia has done a brilliant job instilling a fighting spirit and resilience in the team which looked completely lost before he came through the Elland Road doors.

They look like a whole different kettle of fish under his management and that is shown by their recent form, picking up an impressive seven points out of a possible 12 since his appointment.

The international break has arguably come at the wrong time for Leeds, and Gracia still holds a big job galvanising his men again once they all return for their next league fixture against league leaders Arsenal on 1 April. A huge task.

In other Leeds United news, one player was accused of having “committed the ultimate sin” as pundits winced at the footage.
