‘It’s bad’ – Mateusz Klich makes admission about Leeds season restart
Mateusz Klich has admitted that he does not enjoy playing for Leeds United in empty stadiums due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Championship season was suspended in early March due to the global outbreak and only restarted last month.
Since the restart, English clubs have been playing behind closed doors and that is a major change to a lot of the players in the Premier League and Championship.
Klich is not a fan of the empty stadiums, pointing out that in his native Poland, there are a certain number of supporters who are allowed to attend fixtures.
“It’s bad,” he said, as quoted by LeedsLive. “I hope next season we can start at least with some of the fans.
“In Poland right now it’s 25 per cent stadium capacity allowed in the stands, so I hope this is the last five games without fans in the stands, because it’s not really football. But obviously you have to finish the league.”
We hope that by the time next season starts, English football can adopt a similar approach to what is happening in Poland.
If people are now allowed to go back to the pubs and get their hair cut then it cannot be too long before a certain number of people are allowed into football stadiums?
It should not be too hard to ensure people are social distancing if tickets are spread out two metres or more from the next one.
Obviously it will be difficult to plan and will mean that someone is going to have to put a lot of hard work in but that does not mean it’s not achievable.
Leeds fans are eager to get back to Elland Road as soon as possible to see their side in the Premier League next season, if they get there.
We want to see the fans back too and hear Elland Road sound as it should do every week.
In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani has shared his plan to get the fans back in Elland Road.
