Injury expert shares Everton injury update ahead of Leeds United showdown

Andros Townsend and Nathan Patterson are both “ruled out” for Everton ahead of their Premier League clash against Leeds United on Saturday, according to Injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

The former Crystal Palace winger is out with a long-term knee injury and Patterson isn’t expected to return until the start of March (Premier injuries website).

The Toffees are also sweating on the fitness of summer signing James Garner, who, according to Dinnery, has a “25 per cent” chance of featuring at Goodison Park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a further doubt for the game on Merseyside after missing Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Monday evening (13 February).

Season-defining

It’s fair to say this game is absolutely massive in the context of Leeds’ season. The Toffees are just one place below the Whites having played the same number of games. Sean Dyche’s side are also coming off of a disappointing defeat and will be looking to bounce back in front of an expectant home crowd.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Michael Skubala will be in charge of the fixture, with the board’s quest for a manager becoming a tough task. Andoni Iraola seemed to be the man to take the reins at Elland Road before he turned down the chance to move to the Premier League.

Leeds United

Arne Slot and Carlos Corberan have also been and gone, with former Wolves and Spurs boss Nuno Espírito Santo now emerging as a potential candidate. It’s an appointment which would divide the fan base, but could well see Leeds look far more resilient defensively in their bid to avoid a return to the Championship.
