‘Needs to recover’ – Radrizzani comments on Bielsa future at Leeds United
Andrea Radrizzani has admitted that he is very hopeful of Marcelo Bielsa guiding Leeds United into their next chapter in the Premier League.
El Loco is yet to sign a new deal at Elland Road after his second contract at the club expired at the end of last season.
Leeds remain in talks with Bielsa after the South American transformed the club from top-to-bottom in his two-year spell in West Yorkshire.
Radrizzani had nothing but praise for Bielsa but admitted he needed rest before the Premier League season restarts in September.
“He is the perfect fit,” Radrizzani told Eleven Sports, via GOAL.
“He conquered an amazing achievement, not only in the result, but I think in terms of style of football, number of chances and possession.
“Congratulations to him, but also hopefully he can rest because he’s 65, he’s not young.
“He needs to recover and hopefully guide us in the next chapter.”
Phil Hay reported on Tuesday that everyone involved at Leeds expects Bielsa to sign another new contract at Elland Road.
Everyone knows that these things take time, but there has rarely been doubt surrounding his future at the club after the success of last season.
With every move that Bielsa has made, he expects a number of demands to be made. That is no different despite next season potentially being his third year at Leeds.
Those demands this year reportedly revolve around transfers. First of all, Bielsa has handed a list of five names in each position that he wants strengthening to Victor Orta.
On top of that, the Whites must reject offers for any players that he deems unsellable – Radrizzani will certainly meet those demands to keep the main man happy.
We fully expect to see El Loco marching up and down the touchline at Elland Road next season.
