‘Hope refs don’t see it’ – Many fans react as Leeds player posts social media lockdown update

Luke Ayling has been teaching his daughter how to do his world-famous ‘Ayling flop’ – a technique he has used to great effect this season – and Leeds United fans are delighted.

If you’re not aware of the Ayling flop, check out the compilation video below – it will give you a good grounding.

It involves getting your body in between the opponent and the ball, waiting for contact – no matter how slight – and going over to get the free-kick.

On his Instagram story, saved for posterity by one Leed fan, Ayling lines up his daughter in front of the ball and then nudges her in the back with his knee.

She goes over and Ayling breaks out in laughter and claps his hands.

To be fair she absolutely nails it, although as one fan pointed out, she didn’t grab the ball when she went down – a key part of Ayling’s move.

It cheered us up and that’s what we need in these strange and dark times, and Leeds fans were absolutely loving it and lined up on Twitter to let him know.
