‘Beast’, ‘Player of the season’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by one man in first half v H’field

With Nottingham Forest losing and Fulham only managing a draw against Bristol City at lunchtime, Leeds United have a fantastic chance to pull away from the pack at Elland Road.

They got off to the best possible start with an absolutely brilliant strike from Luke Ayling after just three minutes – and fans are absolutely loving his recent form.

It was a brilliant passing move that set up the strike, with Jack Harrison finding Ayling with a cross.

But, the strike from Ayling, a thunderous volley into the roof of the net from the back post… as John Motson once said, “Oh my word”.

Ayling celebrated by doing the funky chicken against Hull, this week he let his hair down – literally.

It was the 12th gaol of his career but his third in just five games, and this was the pick of the bunch.

Lots of Leeds fans were blown away and took to Twitter to hail their hero, with one saying he is “Player of the season for me”.

If he keeps scoring like this it would be hard to argue against that when we get promoted.

Meanwhile, here are the best reactions from absolutely delighted fans…
