Aston Villa keen on signing Jack Harrison but Leeds United reluctant to sell – Alex Crook
Aston Villa are “keen” on signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison in the January transfer window, but the West Yorkshire club are reluctant to sell, according to Alex Crook.
The Whites winger has been subject to a transfer frenzy in the last week, with Leicester City launching an official £20million bid on Saturday, according to David Ornstein (28 January).
However, according to talkSPORT reporter Crook, Unai Emery’s side are also interested in signing the attacker this window, while Newcastle hold a “long-standing interest” in the player.

Responding to his own tweet detailing the news of the Villa’s’ proposed interest, Crook confirmed (Saturday 28 January) that the club’s hierarchy were reluctant to let him leave this January.
He said: “Leeds United do not want to sell Harrison”
Transfer saga
This January transfer window has been far from boring for Leeds United fans.
After signing Austrian international Max Wober and splashing a club-record fee on Georginio Rutter, the Whites could now be looking to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus.
All of these acquisitions won’t be coming cheaply and whether Leeds’ hands will be forced on Harrison due to their financial restraints is still up for debate.
Jesse Marsch’s wage bill will definitely be near-capacity, and if the likes of Villa were to come in with an offer of around £30million, the club may decide to part ways.
Obviously, they are unwilling to let Harrison go if the valuation of the player isn’t met, with added benefit that the winger has looked like a man possessed since the World Cup break. This one could go all the way to deadline day, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see plenty of twists and turns along the way.
