Andrea Radrizzani reacts as Leeds announce Hernandez and Berardi exits

Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi after it was confirmed they’ll be leaving Leeds United.

It was announced on Friday that both long-serving players, who were instrumental in Leeds’ rise to the Premier League, will exit Elland Road at the end of the season.

Radrizzani responded to the news on his personal Twitter account, saying “thank you, champion” in both Italian and Spanish before calling the two players “legends”.

Legends

There’s no other way to put it than to say that Hernandez and Berardi are modern-day legends at Elland Road.

Since joining Leeds in 2014, Berardi has made 156 appearances for the club in all competitions while Hernandez has played 174 times in total for the Yorkshire club.

Both were huge last season as the Whites won promotion and both were highly influential in Marcelo Bielsa’s first season at Elland Road.

It hasn’t been the same story this season, unfortunately.

Berardi has spent most of the campaign recovering from a serious injury he suffered at the end of last season and only made his Premier League debut against Southampton this week.

As for Hernandez, he’s struggled to play regularly and stamp down a spot in the Leeds starting line-up. Still, to be in Bielsa’s plans at the age of 36 is not easy.

We’re going to miss these two players. They’ve been superb servants for Leeds and will surely go down in the club’s history.
