Andrea Radrizzani blasts Athletic journalist on Twitter over Leeds United takeover reports
Andrea Radrizzani has blasted the Athletic journalist Matt Slater on Twitter over an article concerning the potential full sale of Leeds United to the 49ers Enterprises.
The Leeds owner was seen earlier reacting furiously to an article from The Athletic, sending a strong rebuttal message to Phil Hay.
Writing via his personal Twitter profile on Tuesday (7 December), Radrizzani gave a strong reply to Slater who suggested that the Leeds owner has basically confirmed the details of the story but only challenges the view of an inevitable takeover.

Radrizzani wrote: “You are not informed well. It is in my control. Now please let end it here. Next time check with both sides and report the real or better don’t because you can create misinformation which can [affect] Aser business good luck,”
War of words
Hay, arguably one of the reliable journalists covering Leeds, is yet to give a reply to Radrizzani.
Slater has tried to defend his source and information. To a certain extent, his tone of reporting suggests that he has got the information spot on.
It seems Radrizzani is angry with the tone of the reporting more than anything else.

The report claims that 49ers Enterprises have an option to buy the Yorkshire club in full. The takeover process would cost more than £400million and it is expected to happen before January 2024.
However, Radrizzani has set the record straight here. He suggests it is still under his control. He has a valid point here. Sometimes “misinformation” creates a lot of undue negative publicity which hampers a business deal.
It seems pretty clear that Radrizzani is totally committed to the project at Leeds, and he is not keen to sell everything and leave.
