Alex Sobel rages at Leeds fan footage v Manchester United

Labour MP Alex Sobel has been left raging at footage of Leeds United fans at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United won the game 5-1, and Whites fans were spotted singing that Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford have “let their country down.”

Sobel has called on Leeds and Andrea Radrizzani to hand out lifetime bans to any of those who were caught singing the song.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this weekend, Sobel was far from impressed with the footage on social media.

“An absolute disgrace,” he wrote.

“I hope Leeds United ban these people as they are no supporters of the club.”

Disgrace?

There was much wrong with the build-up to the game yesterday, and this probably wasn’t the worst of it.

Manchester United fans holding up Turkish flags was disgraceful, too, but of course, nothing was really shown of that on social media.

Footage of fans fighting on the street was also shared, and it really ruined the return of crowds in the Premier League.

There is no chance that bans will be handed out for this, and it is probably impossible given that nearly every single fan on the concourse was singing.

It is still not acceptable, although it is virtually impossible to stop.
