49ers Enterprises takeover announcement expected this week at Leeds United
49ers Enterprises’ full takeover at Leeds United is now expected to be formally announced this week, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The American consortium have been desperately waiting for EFL approval which has slowed down their summer progress in not only announcing their position as full owners at Elland Road but also an announcement on their new manager, with Daniel Farke set to be the preferred candidate.
Journalist Graham Smyth told the Leeds United News podcast [29 June], the American consortium 49ers desperately want to make an announcement over their managerial appointment but are waiting with the EFL yet to approve their official full takeover.

And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post [3 July], an end to the frustrating saga at Elland Road is now close to being completed this week.
“It is just under five weeks until the Whites kick off their Championship campaign at home to Cardiff City and despite not yet having named a head coach, an announcement is expected this week in conjunction with news of United’s takeover being approved by the EFL”, the report writes.
Finally
Leeds United and the 49ers desperately face a race against time to get their new manager announced before Tuesday 4 July with pre-season preparations set to get underway.
The takeover snag with the EFL has certainly slowed down matters and it is really not promising news with the 49ers desperate to make a swift impact under their new regime and that desperation is made all the more crucial with Leeds United wanting a swit Premier League return by the end of the new campaign.

But, according to this new development, the Whites can finally move on with their preparations for the new season with an announcement expected this week because the American investors have a huge job on their hands ensuring their new manager is well-positioned to make a swift impact when the new campaign kicks off.
For that to happen, things need to drastically change at Elland Road, and rather quickly with the club set to lose several of their key stars this summer because of their Championship position.
Whether that damages Farke’s preparations for the campaign is another matter entirely, but Leeds United need to quickly rebuild the squad in order to ensure they are challenging from the off and that means they must identify and recruit their targets swiftly and efficiently.
In other Leeds United news, one pundit definitely wants the Whites to lose arguably the one man they want to keep the most.
