49ers Enterprises have £1billion plan for Leeds United with takeover imminent
49ers Enterprises believe Leeds United could soon be valued in excess of £1billion ahead of their impending takeover, according to The Athletic.
The California-based entity first arrived on the scene at Elland Road in 2018 with a 10 per cent stake in the club.
The group now feel there is enormous potential with the English Premier League outfit as they close in on full ownership.

“Leeds’ would-be owners see the potential for turnover to be increased as high as £400million, something they believe would see the club valued in excess of £1billion,” according to The Athletic.
“Put another way, 10 times what Leeds were considered to be worth when 49ers Enterprises first bought that 10 per cent stake five years ago.”

Huge potential
Given the club’s history and fanbase, there is undoubtedly huge potential for Leeds in the years to come.
And while the status of the Whites as a Premier League or Championship club should not impact the takeover, the potential would definitely be realised from day one if the West Yorkshire outfit are playing in the top flight.
The American entity will be keeping a close eye on things from now until the end of the season, from managerial appointments to player transfers and everything in between.
Unfortunately for all parties involved, relegation is a real threat, with Leeds’ confidence taking a huge knock with the recent 5-1 home loss to Crystal Palace.
But supporters will remain as upbeat as possible in and around Elland Road, particularly given this latest news regarding 49ers Enterprises.
Fans will be well aware of the success that Newcastle have enjoyed since their takeover, with several other clubs also thriving under new ownership.
In other Leeds United news, one player is “paramount” to the Premier League safety of the Whites, according to Joe Donnohue of the Yorkshire Evening Post.
