Leeds United have attempted more passes than average per game than their arch rivals Manchester United this summer, a fresh study from CIES Observatory has revealed.

They count the data before the current gameweek which means that nothing from their 6-3 drubbing of Manchester City will be counted in it.

The Whites have attempted 489 passes per game which puts them in 8th with the highest team, the defending champions, attempting 754.

Impressive

Manchester United were supposed to be an all-dominating team under Erik ten Hag who did wonders at Ajax and there was so much hype.

However, they've had shambolic results all season, game after game and this is a clear indicator that there's no real system there.

In contrast, everyone at Leeds appears to be singing from the same hymn sheet as Jesse Marsch has created a very good system.

The side no longer relies on individual brilliance and most players are replaceable without the team being affected a great deal.

What they now need, is to go on a decent run of form and get closer or even into the top half as this side is very much capable of doing that.

Recent results may suggest otherwise but we have confidence in Marsch to take Leeds at least to the top ten, especially with players returning to full fitness.
