Gabriel Sara is a player that Leeds United admire, with the Brazilian impressing for Galatasaray across this season.

The Whites face plenty of interest in the 26-year-old, who announced himself onto the European stage in the Champions League for the Turkish side.

Sara has enjoyed plenty of success from the middle of the pitch, securing five goals and four assists in the Turkish league and lifting the title at the end of the season.

That level of influence will want to be kept at the Turkish giants, but it remains to be seen if he will indeed be available.

However, ahead of Leeds’ summer window, the interest in Sara could have just received a potential boost, suggesting that the midfielder will be on the market.

Why could Leeds have more confidence of landing Gabriel Sara?

Concerns over Sara’s potential £35million price tag are certainly fair, but the Brazilian is an exceptional talent and is already familiar with the flow of English football.

Sara spent a portion of his career at Norwich City, although his time did not overlap with Farke’s tenure at Carrow Road.

But, if the Whites are truly interested in snapping up the Galatasaray midfielder, there is certainly added hope.

The Turkish club look to be seemingly resigned to losing the 26-year-old midfielder, as they are already looking to sign a replacement.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Galatasaray’s interest in Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram is linked to the interest from “several English clubs”, which, based on previous reports, includes Leeds United.

The information suggests that a move out of Istanbul is likely for Sara this summer.

What would Gabriel Sara arrival mean for Leeds’ players?

Of course, if Sara were to arrive, the affected areas would be the centre of the pitch. Competition for both Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka would not go amiss at Elland Road.

The Whites are looking to move on from being a relegation-battling side, and adding strength in depth is one way to do so.

The Welshman and Japanese star would have to increase or even maintain their levels to retain their position in the pecking order.

It would not signal an immediate demotion, and nor should it. Both Leeds midfielders have earned their chance to remain as part of the midfield two that Daniel Farke has often utilised throughout the season just gone.
