Leeds United have been linked with a move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi and many fans are excited by the news.
The first report of a Leeds link came a couple of weeks ago when it was claimed his agent had offered him to Victor Orta.
We didn’t think a lot about it then – his wages are high and we hadn’t heard him mentioned by any of our Leeds sources.
However, Phil Hay has now confirmed that Batshuayi is a definite back-up option for Leeds if they can’t land their number one target Said Benrahma.
One thing that the Chelsea player has over Benrahma as far as some Leeds fans are concerned is that he’s an out-and-out striker.
With Patrick Bamford as the only senior striker at the club, many fans think another senior centre forward is an absolute must in the Premier League.
Batshuayi is seemingly on his way out of Chelsea. He’s fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, with Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham ahead of him, and Timo Werner on his way in.
Bielsa knows him already from his time at Marseille, as some fans have pointed out.
Others are convinced that he’s the player Leeds need for goals in the Premier League. One supporter said, “I think I want him more than anyone now”.
It’s a signing that would definitely show Leeds’ ambition and these fans would love to see it happen…
Michy Batshuayi.
I'd take him tbh, worked under Bielsa previously so wouldn't struggle under his regime and we know he's a goalscorer. Struggled at Chelsea but a fresh start could be what the doctor orders!#lufc pic.twitter.com/6EjY1ijpwy

We’re in for Batshuayi? He’s 26, and in the final year of his contract, and has worked with Bielsa before. That could be an unbelievable deal and one which would save us money due to his contract. His record in the PL per game/per mins is excellent. Yes please! #lufc

I’d like to see us go and get Michy Batshuayi tbh, played under Bielsa during their time together at Marseille. So he should know what to expect when it comes to training and matches #lufc

Batshuayi would be a shrewd signing. Rate him highly/good finisher and he'll make a good backup option for Bamford 😏 #lufc

Listening to The Phil Hay Show, and hearing that Leeds United are very interested in Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi. Already knows Bielsa from his Marseille days and would be a fantastic signing😍 #lufc

Was going to say, we don't play with 3 30+ year old CDMs so our style might suit him a bit more.
Considering we have Bamford as the other option and he didn't exactly make a statement at you guys as a target man type of striker
